Grandpa Walton Knew Better
Some years ago, the late actor Will Greer, who played Grandpa Walton in the television series The Waltons, appeared on a late-night TV talk show (probably Johnny Carson’s) and informed his host and the viewing audience that the sappy or milky latex from old dandelions or milkweed was a "sure-proof" way of getting rid of age spots. He recommended rubbing some of the white juice on the backs of the hands every day until they faded away.
